Title: If
You Don't Understand It, Don't Just Condemn, Ask!!!
Yesterday,
I had created a post on #Bitcoin: The New Face of Money and some guy from
somewhere, who is not even my friend on facebook or my follower pounced on the
post, condemning it with all vitriolic acidity and just failed short of
insulting my person in the process. He called it a scam!!! I was shocked beyond
words and took him on; I asked him what his pedigree was to be able to make
such a sweeping allegation against the world's most highly priced digital
currency as at the moment, and all he could say was that as far as he was
concerned, bitcoin is the greatest scam in the world right now. He was neither
willing to substantiate that claim nor was he available for further
discussions. I checked out his profile, but not much about him was there; I
googled his name and it came back to me "empty", I went to wikipedia
to check him out, and again there was no entry about him there; I went to yahoo to check him out, and it just
returned some entry that was dated 2010 on just a tiny comment he had made on
some article. I went this far to find out what authority the guy had to be able
to condemn a movement that is gaining momentum every single day. My searches
led me to conclude that he was a man with no authority at all over matters as
he delved into. If Bitcoin is a scam, then Bill Gates the richest man on planet
earth right now, must be a scammer because he has invested millions of dollars
in the bitcoin industry; if bitcoin is a scam, then Richard Branson, the very
popular multiple business developer and the owner of Virgin Atlantic must be a
scammer because he has also invested heavily in bitcoin; if bitcoin is a scam,
then Switzerland must be a scam Country because citizens in certain cities
there get paid their monthly wages in bitcoin; if bitcoin is a scam, then
Russia must be preparing to become a scam Country too, because Putin has
directed the invention of their own version of cryptocurrency, if bitcoin is a
scam, then hundreds if not thousands of Businesses, Industries, and Organizations
out there in the whole wide world that are presently accepting bitcoin as a
means of payment for goods and services must be in the scam world too. I
decided to write on this today because just like that guy that happened on my
post, many of us are clothed in the same garment, we are in a hurry to judge,
to condemn, to assassinate, to consign to the refuse dump that which makes no
sense to us and which we do not understand instead of seeking to understand it
by either asking or conducting our own research on the subject matter. In the
ancient days, when our forefathers could not understand the tools and
implements of war that the white man confronted them with, they termed them
"magic" and in our world of today when we don't understand how a
thing works we call it "scam" how different are we then from our
forefathers? Anyways I excused that guy because like I found out, he had no
pedigree to discuss the subject of bitcoin not to talk of branding it and
whenever I meet persons of low or no pedigree at all, I impose on myself the
duo of selective hearing and selective seeing so that I can choose what to see
and what to hear. The day that Bill Gates or Richard Branson and other world
millionaires who have invested in bitcoin come out in the public and declare
that bitcoin is a scam, then it will be the time to listen up but until then,
listen with one ear only when you hear the word scam mouthed about bitcoin and
by the way, I am here for you, you can ask me about bitcoin!!!!
