Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First
Hello and welcome to
#MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 78
Title: What Will Be Your Defining Moment?
She
was driving home and trying to keep sane on the road among so many insane
drivers. The traffic was heavy, looked like everyone left their office at the
same time, so much horn blaring, so much noise, so much smoke pollution. She
was dog tired and couldn't wait to get home and just soak herself in a warm
bath-tub before any other thing. She was keeping to her own lane and then
suddenly realized that she had not belted up and so she trafficated to park and
do just that and one reckless and dangerous driver who obviously did not see
her trafficator, suddenly jumped on her car and the crash was thunderous, she
jolted forward and hit her head on the steering wheel and was knocked out flat,
the cars started stopping, her car was wound up, the doors were securely
locked, smoke was belching out of her exhaust pipe and any moment the car could
catch fire. With no other choice left, early arrivals decided to break the door
glass and rescue her, some others contacted Road Safety and within some short
time, they were there and took her to the Hospital and from her phone, they
contacted her next of kin who happened to be her husband. In the melee of the
confusion that set in following the crash, the guy who hit her slowly
disengaged his car from the scene and before anyone could say Jack, he sped
away to the curses of men and women who had stopped to be of help. At the
Hospital, she was taken to the Emergency Room and properly and adequately
examined, when no obvious external injuries were seen, she was admitted for
observation. 3 hours later, she came by and the first question of course was
"Where am I?" The Nurse on duty told her where she was and what had
brought her there and immediately called in her husband who was relieved to see
that she was back to life. They both shed some tears and then she was able to
recount exactly what happened. She inquired after her car and if the
"b...." who hit her was arrested?. She wanted to go home immediately
but the Doctor who attended to her insisted that she had to spend at least 24
hours in the Hospital so as to be under close observation. The following day
after the Doctor had satisfied himself that she was well oriented in time,
place and person, He discharged her to follow up. On her way home with her husband,
she kept asking herself "what if I had died in that crash, would that have
been my end?" The husband tried to let her know that God has given her a
second chance and that they have to do something with it. At home, she made up
her mind to commit the rest of her days to educating people on the need and
importance of belting up before driving off in a car. That near death
experience became her defining moment and changed her from within. She became
very passionate about belt safety, joined Road Safety Marshalls, founded belt
Safety Clubs in Schools around her and took her campaign for belt safety to
every nook and cranny of her location and locality. "What are you doing with your life?" "Life is really
short, tomorrow is never guaranteed for anyone." Are you waiting for
a near death experience to make you have a defining moment or are you looking
up things around you that you can help to give a boost? Make a choice today,
tomorrow may be too far.

Near death experiences are not too common and waiting to have it before becoming "born again" to have a defining moment will be equivalent to waiting for godot
