Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First

Hello and welcome to #MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 81

Title:          If You Take A Wrong Decision, Be Ready For The Consequences!!

The other day, I was standing in a queue to access some service, when two other men joined the queue. I guess they must have been discussing from outside and continued it even while on the queue and so those of us there could not help but overhear what they were talking about. I overheard one of the men say "he is like that o o, always on the run, not willing to sit down and discuss things through and arrive at certain decisions". Of course I wasn't going to ask him who they were talking about of what it was he or she did, but it helped make up my topic for today. I have known people who find it really difficult to make decisions on the things of life as it concerns them; they are always seeking for other people's opinions, looking for confirmation or approval of such opinions, and all that; they refuse to take responsibility for whatever decision they eventually arrive at, looking for who to make the escape goat should that decision fail or collapse. A man lost his first wife when his daughter was just 2 years old, he decided to re-marry so as to provide a mother figure for the girl and also to raise a family, as usual there was no love lost between the girl and her step mother and as soon as she could know something she started rebelling against her much to the displeasure of her father. He tried to mediate between them whenever issues arose. At 12 she entered the Secondary School and at 16, in her final year, she became pregnant. She could not confide in her step mother but rather went to her father and crying loudly she told him that she was pregnant. The man was shocked to hear that and in his anger and annoyance, drove the girl out of the house to go and live with the "b.....t" that impregnated her and never to step into his house again. The Step Mother was in the house and overheard all that transpired between the girl and her father but she said nothing and did nothing. The distraught girl ran to the house of the boy that impregnated her and because his parents were home, the boy could not invite her into the house but rather met her outside and after she had narrated her father's reaction to the information of her pregnancy, they decided that she has to abort the pregnancy. He took her to one of their friends who claimed to know a "Doctor" that specialized in "abortion" and so they went to the "Doctor's Clinic" which was a Patent Medicine Shop. They met the "Doctor" who assured them that since it was still a "young pregnancy" that it would not be difficult to remove it. They discussed the cost and arrived at a certain sum which neither the boy nor the girl had, but the boys asked the Doctor to start the "operation" while they go out to look for the money which condition the Doctor rejected stating that his money must be complete before he can touch the girl. The following day, they eventually got the whole money and gave the Doctor, who then took the girl into his "theatre" did some manoeuvers and told her that he had removed the pregnancy but that she would bleed for some days before all of it will be out. He advised her to buy a lot of sanitary pads to stop the bleeding from embarrassing her in public. Since she could not go back to her Father's house, she had to stay with that their friend who accompanied them to the "Doctor's Clinic". For two days she bled profusely and was changing her pad almost on hourly basis but on the third day, she noticed that her tummy was swelling up and she was feeling feverish and cold, they thought it was malaria and they went back to the "Doctor's Clinic" who mixed drugs for her because of the fever. On the 4th day, just as she stepped out of the bed after waking up to go to the convenience to ease herself, she collapsed and passed out. The boy started shouting, neighbours rushed into the room, they observed that she was almost "white" covered with blood and a pungent odour was emanating from her private part and quickly took her into a car and rushed her to the nearby General Hospital. But before they could access the services, the girl died. When eventually the Doctor on call came to examine the patient, she was no more and he wrote in her file "Dead on arrival" They were advised to take the corpse to the mortuary and to contact the next of kin. The friend who housed her and her own boyfriend had to write a note to the father of the girl and sealed it in an envelope, took it to the Compound and gave to one of his neighbours to deliver to him and in the note they wrote "your daughter's body is lying in the General Hospital's mortuary, stone cold, she died while trying to abort the pregnancy for which you drove her out of your house" He was cold on receiving the note, went to the mortuary and of a truth his daughter's body was there. He had no other choice but to claim it for burial. And he never forgave himself until the day of his death because he felt that if he had brought her closer even in his disappointment of her action, she would have lived. Life always presents us with situations for which we need to make decisions but in making decisions we must be guided by our view of tomorrow, the future is pregnant and no one knows what it will deliver.
