Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First

Hello and welcome to #MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 229

Title:          It's Time To 'warm-down' Our Minds Of Issues Before We Sleep.

This story made a whole lot of sense to me and I am sure it would to you too

Once upon a time, a Professor of Psychology whose students regarded as "weird" walked into an Auditorium filled with students for her lecture and in her right hand was a glass of water that was filled to the middle.

She raised the glass of water up and as the students were expecting the typical question “Is the glass half empty or glass half full”?

Instead, with a smile on her face, the Professor asked,

"Class, what am I doing?
The students looked one to the another and the brightest of them said "Ma you are holding a glass cup half filled with water in mid air"
That was a correct answer the Professor said and asked the Class to applaud the young man who gave the answer.

And still holding the glass cup up she asked again “And How heavy is this glass of water I’m holding?”
Students shouted out answers ranging from eight ounces to a couple pounds.

Laughing out loud, she told them that they were all wrong for two reasons firstly no one can ever obtain the absolute weight of any object just by guessing and secondly From my perspective, the absolute weight of this glass of water doesn’t really matter.  she said

It all depends on how long I hold it.
If I hold it for a minute or two, it’s fairly light.

If I hold it for an hour straight, its weight might make my arm ache a little.

If I hold it for a day straight, my arm will likely cramp up and feel completely numb and paralyzed, forcing me to drop the glass to the floor.

In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it feels to me.

As the students shook their heads in agreement, she continued, “Your stresses and worries in life are very much like this glass of water.

Think about them for a while and nothing happens.

Think about them a bit longer and you begin to ache a little.

Think about them all day long, and you will feel completely numb and paralyzed – incapable of doing anything else until you drop them.

The moral:  It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses and worries.

No matter what happens during the day, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down

Don’t carry them through the night and into the next day with you.

Remember the Good Book says "sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof"

If you still feel the weight of yesterday’s stress, it’s a strong sign that it’s time to put the glass down.

My personal take-away: It's probably easier said than done but, if we can 'warm-down' our minds of issues before we sleep, I'm sure you will have less of a 'weight' when you wake up next morning.
And over time, 'warming-down' our minds will be easier.

Morning Vibes With Dr Jerry - The First-Episode 87/Tomorrow Is Not Promised

Thursday    30th November 2017 Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First Hello and welcome to #MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 87 Title:          Tomorrow Is Not Promised, Live In The Now!! I have taken a look at how people postpone for tomorrow what they can do today and it really bothers me. It bothers me, not because I am not a believer in planning for tomorrow or even next tomorrow but because the thought process behind the action is that of saying that we have all the time in the world and so there's no reason to hurry. It is this thought process that has left many a man unable to fulfill their destinies and a whole number of others unable to finish the projects that they have started. The story is told of the man who was the head of the family and was expected to pass information about the family to the younger ones, but he kept pushing it forward. Each time the young ones asked for info...

He told me he was getting ready to graduate from high school in a couple of weeks and then immediately starting his college career in the fall.  “But I have no clue what I want to do with my life,” he said.  “Right now I’m just going with the flow.” And then, with eager, honest eyes, he began asking me one question after the next: “What do you do for a livi...
