Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First
Hello and welcome to
#MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 29
Title: What
Is Your True North?
True north is a navigational term referring to the direction
of the North Pole relative to the navigator's position. In other words, it is
the direction of the geographical North Pole from a given point. This is
different from the magnetic north pole. Its concept was first discovered and
noted by the Chinese polymath Shen Kuo in the 11th century. True north is compared to
magnetic north (the direction of the magnetic north pole) and grid north (the
direction northwards along the grid lines of a map projection). The direction of true north is
marked in the skies by the north celestial pole. For most practical purposes,
this is the position of Polaris. However, due to the precession of the Earth's
axis, true north rotates in an arc that takes approximately 25,000 years to
complete. In 2002, Polaris was at its closest approach to the celestial north
pole. 2,000 years ago, the closest star to the celestial north pole was Thuban. I have given you a historical perspective of what the #TrueNorth is,
however, when applied to mankind, a man's true north really has to do with
"what he should do,
not what he can do" The true north serves as a guide post to where we want
to go. It drives activity for everyone, every day, every minute and actually
checks our "thinking way" The truth of the matter is that if you are
not happy at what you are doing right now as a job, it invariably is an
indication that you have not found your true north with respect to your career;
if your liquidity level is not at where you want to be, it means that you have
not found your true north with respect to your finances. How about your Social
True North? your Political True North? your religious true north? Every aspect
of life has its own true north, the place at which we are happy and most
satisfied. What is that which your heart desires most? that which your thoughts
spin out the most, that which you wish for most of the time? that which makes
you to suddenly wake up even if you are in deep slumber? Examine it properly,
that could be your true north and you may never feel fulfilled until you meet
it up. Today, do a SWOT analysis of yourself and see if you are in the 'neg' or
in the 'pos' if you are in the 'neg', then you need to wake up and start going
after your dream. Take it a little up every day, Start somewhere, do something.
