Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First

Hello and welcome to #MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 136

Title:          3 Critical Choices To Make In This 2018 - Choose Health

All through this month of January 2018, I have taken you through the path of the things to do to make it a really awesome year. The year in which you shall live like you have never lived before, the year of your freedom from whatever has held you bound, a year of release from captivity.

In wrapping up the things to do for 2018 to be great, over the next 3 days, I shall be discussing the 3 critical choices you really have to make (along side others of course) to ensure that you happen to life this year.

Today I am discussing - Choose Health

It is obvious that without health, whatever else we are or plan to be come to nought; for anyone to acquire wealth, for anyone to have a prospering career, for anyone to move up on the ladder of corporate responsibility, they must be healthy in the first place and that is why it is popularly said that "health is the first wealth" or that "health is wealth"

But it is very surprising how many of us take our health for granted to the extent that we neglect it in the pursuit of wealth and pleasures of life only to turn round when life is ebbing to use the wealth to try and acquire our health again which sometimes become so very late.

So today I want to ask you to Choose Health - it surely is for your own good.

One of the major things to implement in the choose health roadmap is Physical Exercise.

Most people take up exercise because they want to lose weight or tone up their bodies e.t.c and these are valid reasons to start exercising.

BUT! Exercise is also important for our mental health.

I encourage every anxiety patient who walks through my door to exercise.

WHY?

Because exercise is one of the best and cheapest natural stress busters out there!

Yes, exercise takes discipline and yes it can be hard work, but that’s what gets our feel-good hormones rip roaring through our bodies!

Do you choose health?

Ultimately, whether you exercise or not, boils down to CHOICE.

What’s more important to you? Do you choose to lie in bed an extra 30 minutes and risk disease or do you choose health and feel like a million dollars?

And, By The Way, not having enough time for exercise is as lame an excuse as they come.

We all have the same 24 hours in the day. Use them productively and you’ll find the time to exercise.

I have here a list of 10 reasons to choose health this year:
especially in making exercise a priority?

1.      The year has come with its own fair share of stressors and things that make us want to just throw in the towel; in some climes stress levels can go through the roof after the festivities that mark the end of the last year that the first few weeks of the new year witness a spike in suicidal attempts and divorce rates.

Exercise helps to beat stress and anxiety.

When we are working out, we’re pumping oxygen and blood around our bodies.

Oxygen and blood are full of life-giving nutrients that we need to live our best lives. It basically eats up the stress hormones that we flood our bodies with all too often.

2.      You want to look and feel good in your skin for the time of year when most photos are taken and family and friends finally carve out the time to get together.

3.      Exercise makes us feel great! When we exercise our brain releases a chemical called dopamine.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter concerned with the pleasure centre of the brain.

Dopamine helps us to find the motivation to make exercise a regular activity.

4.      Exercise gets our hearts pumping and increases our rate of breathing.

As a consequence it floods our bodies with the nutrients we need to stay healthy.

And when we’re healthy, we feel happier, and when we’re happier, we tend to have more energy.

5.      Sleep is improved because exercise helps us to cope with stressors more easily and a relaxed mind will sleep more deeply.

6.      Exercise boosts your confidence. Your confidence will soar when you are happy in your own skin.

7.      Exercise gives you mental as well as physical strength.

It boosts your sense of self-esteem and creates an inner confidence in your ability to live your best life.

It makes you shine from the inside out.

8.      Exercise makes your muscles do what nature intended.

Remember that all muscles are expected to spend energy to be in good shape and tone and so if you fail to use your muscles they begin to atrophy and over the years thin out and thus unable to support you if you live into some good age.

Do you have any idea of the amount of people who tweak their backs, picking up a pen off the floor?

9.      Exercise could well prolong your life and will cut down on your health care costs.

Regular exercise can help prevent Heart Disease, Cancer, Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, Osteoporosis, Arthritis and much more.

Prevention is better than cure.

Infact prevention is not only better than cure, it is cheaper than cure in the long run

10.    Exercise confers on you a voracious appetite and if you choose to eat healthily, you would consume the necessary calories your body needs and also burn them out to be in excellent health.

There is no time like the present. Why not give yourself the gift of health this New Year?  Choose health

Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First Hello and welcome to #MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 20 Title:          Not All That Glitters Is Gold!!! This is a popular maxim that I bet you have heard countless number of times that it may have lost its true meaning to you. But have you really sat down with yourself to critically examine its worth? From times immemorial gold has been one object that men and women, Kings and Queens hanker after, while some are willing to die in search of it, others are willing to kill to obtain it and all these are linked to the qualities of gold - its durability, its sacredness, its glittering and reflective nature (especially when exposed to light) and the fact that to acquire gold, one rally must be at his best either in the sports or in the mines. Little wonder then that sports men and women want to win the gold medal by any and all means. High quality gold is an object to ...

If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting. You know that already, right? Because it's common sense, right? Perhaps... Yet, so many of us don't listen to our own better judgment. In fact, oftentimes the biggest difference between those of us who are making positive changes in our lives and those of us who aren't is not one’s superior abilities, but the courage that one has to take consistent action. In other words, some of us sit and wait for the magic beans to arrive while the rest of us just get up and get to wor...
