Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First
Hello and welcome to
#MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 9
Title: Take Responsibility For Your Life And Live It Up!
The day
before today, we discussed the issue of breaking the chains that hold us bound
to the immobile chair and I remember mentioning that mine was procrastination.
There is one chain that is holding so many of us down not allowing us to grow
and that is "living in denial" or "living a lie" or
"not accepting responsibility for our actions". Many a time we refuse
to take responsibility for our actions and the way our lives have gone, just
like the first Man, we continue to practice shifting cultivation. Whenever
anything goes wrong with our decision, we blame everyone around us but
ourselves. Sometimes we even go on to blame inanimate things like the weather,
or the sun or even the moon, all in the bid to run away from looking ourselves
squarely in our eyes and accepting that we goofed. If you are 18 and above, you
can no longer continue to blame your parents for how your life has become
because you are old enough to change the course of your life if you want. You
were match- made into marrying a man or a woman, you cannot continue to blame
the person who introduced both of you because the decision to make your
marriage work is yours and not another. You accepted to work in an Organization
on the advice of your Career Advisor and now you are no longer finding the fun
and joy in your job, it is your responsibility to make a change from that toxic
place, you would not have to wait for your Advisor to do that for you. So many
things in life depend on our ability to accept ourselves for who we actually
and really are and until you start accepting responsibility for your actions
and inactions of course, there can be no forward and upward movement.
