Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First

Hello and welcome to #MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 242

Title:          The Difference Between Interest And Commitment

Studies have shown that a high percentage of persons living on planet earth are not able to distinguish between interest and commitment and the roles they play in helping us achieve our aims and goals in life.

I am not sure if you are part of that high percentage but just in case you are, then this message is for you and if you also know any other person who may be in that bracket, do share it with him or her.

Anyone who wants to achieve profound success in life, who wants to live the script as written for him or her when s/he was brought into this world must understand this difference.

It is this difference between interest and commitment that distinguishes the super successful from the not so successful

So what is the difference?

To be interested in something is to show concern about that thing - mark the key word here - concern

The Oxford Dictionary defines interest in the following words
1.      The feeling of wanting to know or learn about something or someone
2.      The quality of exciting curiosity or holding the attention
3.      An activity or subject which one enjoys doing or studying.

This definition of interest from Oxford talks about "feeling of wanting to know", "quality of exciting curiosity" and "subject one enjoys doing"

Put these together and you would come away with the simple fact that having an interest in something is just the beginning of getting to know that thing. You would understand that the interest may not be sustained, that there may be various reasons, excuses why the interest may not continue to hold. Feelings are transient and so the feeling for any particular object you are interest in is also transient.
So when you are interested in something, you would only do what's convenient to have it and then if it proves difficult to get, you would just move on to other objects of interest to you
It will be easy to find reasons and excuses why you can't get that which you are interested in. You might even play the blame game, blaming everyone and everything around you but not yourself.

And such interests always end up in tales - like the tales by moonlight

Let's take a look at Commitment
Commitment simply means the ability to exercise an active interest in an object with the view to obtaining it

Let's take a look again at how the Oxford Dictionary describes commitment
1.      The state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.
2.      A pledge or undertaking
3.      An engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action.

Take a look again at these different versions of the definition of commitment from the Oxford Dictionary and see that they convey the same meaning of "being dedicated to a cause" an obligation or a pledge and an undertaking

When you are committed to a cause, it means that you are not willing to give any excuse for failing to achieve that cause, it implies that your dedication to the cause is total and you would never take no for an answer
So you would do everything possible and necessary to be the person who is able to achieve the task you have taken an active interest in.

And that is how success is built one stone at a time

If you really want to be successful at any particular thing - it could be your family life, your career, your professional calling, your relationships with friends and relatives, e.t.c. you don't just take interest in them, but you take active interest in them, you commit to them, you get dedicated to them, you tell yourself that until you achieve xyz you ain't taking any rest or break.

That's how the super successful achieve their outstanding success and you can too if you tow that line.

Morning Vibes With Dr Jerry - The First-Episode 87/Tomorrow Is Not Promised

Thursday    30th November 2017 Morning Vibes With Dr. Jerry - the First Hello and welcome to #MorningVibesWithDrJerryTheFirst-Episode 87 Title:          Tomorrow Is Not Promised, Live In The Now!! I have taken a look at how people postpone for tomorrow what they can do today and it really bothers me. It bothers me, not because I am not a believer in planning for tomorrow or even next tomorrow but because the thought process behind the action is that of saying that we have all the time in the world and so there's no reason to hurry. It is this thought process that has left many a man unable to fulfill their destinies and a whole number of others unable to finish the projects that they have started. The story is told of the man who was the head of the family and was expected to pass information about the family to the younger ones, but he kept pushing it forward. Each time the young ones asked for info...
